The boys have joined us again. Sadly Mixi (the cat) had to stay home cause she's a bit fragile. So Mackie (the bear) offerd to keep her company. You may or may not remember them from previous blogs. However, Squdly (the turtle), Emoo (the emu) Barnaby (the sheep) and Petit Milou (the dog) have all joined us. Stay tuned for their adventures.....
So far Petit Milou has scored a friend

Scotland
Off to Oban.
About a 5 hour drive north in the pouring rain. One doesn't visit Scotland for the weather. Last time we visited Oban it rained solidly for 3 days! In the words of the local Scot.... "ne'er ye mind".

Still the scenery was fabulous and we were in time for the daffodils, which is ironic because at that moment John was thinking that Autumn in England is wonderfully colourful.
We're staying in a Guest House this time, rather than a hotel and we scored well. We were greeted by the landlady this morning who enquired if we had anything to moan about the room. Too may English tourists I think.
This house is across the water and is owned by a fellow who helicoptors himself in and out when he visits. Oh how the rich live!
The sun is shining for the moment, so I'm off for a walk before it changes its mind.....

First Stop.....
The flight was great. Unlike so many previous trips, nothing went wrong. We boarded and took off on time, in the seats we were allocated, not seated next to crying babies, and with a bubble in my hand. Score! Maybe they're saving it up for the home journey.
We landed in Manchester for a change, anything to avoid Heathrow really. It was pretty easy going except the airport doesn't have a Duty Free Department. Oh well, that saved me a bit of money.
Off to get the hire car....even that went pretty well. The wheels have got to fall off sooner or later.
And we're on the road......

A drive to The Lake District for a night in a relaxed hotel called The Borrowdale Gates Hotel. It's in Grange, Borrowdale and is set in the most scenic countryside. This is the view from our window.
What's that you say? Looks like snow on the mountains.......Yep, check out the dashboard.
I have re-ignited my love for English sheeps. They come in all shapes and sizes and you will see many of them feature in coming posts. Sorry can't help my self. These fellows were a little bit different with their long furry coats and they produce Baa Baa Black Sheeps.
This Mama above had twins and she liked to keep them in line, so whenever they stood up on their little black legs, she would boof them over, rolly polly style, until they were flat on their back and stationary. That way she could keep an eye on them.
It was a beautiful drive and a great stay

Technology
It's started already and I haven't even left our fair shores.
The title of the blog was originally......
'The Old Grey Army - Just like We Used To Be'.
That was young and spunky and fun. We thought better of this and changed it to......
'The Old Grey Army - Still Going Strong'.
I changed it all in the settings, but NO it doesn't want to change the feed. In John's eloquent turn of phrase 'Some nerdy little fucker says....No!
However, the 2 titles are one in the same.
Sigh!
No doubt there will be many more technological problems and challenges as time goes by.
