Time with Pete & Ros

We've been planning this for a while now and today is the day our holiday with Pete and Ros begins. Their son Joel who lives in Korea is joining us which will be good for us to get to know him better, but even better for P & R because they don't get to spend  much quality time with him. It's just one of those things really, child moves away, child enters binding relationship, less quality time for parents alone....fact of life and most of us have to deal with it. Better make sure it works.

They arrived and bugger me if Pete is not really ill with a cold which he promptly shares with Ros. This is not the way their holiday should begin. Pete was so unwell he missed a day and night out and Ros missed a night. We feel so sad for them, bloody germy people on planes.

Poor Pete
We all did the Tower, Cathedral and Baptistry which was good and shared drinks in the Piazza.

On the last night we left Pete at home and went round the corner to an Osteria where John managed a fusion of Scottish and Italian cooking. It was a Malt Whisky Risotto made with crispy bacon and small scallops served with a glass of Talisker 57' whisky. It tasted amazingly good.

Home via the bridge and to bed to dream of Levanto and The Cinque Terre to come.....
